Many of you are asking, “When is the next Sunday Streets Berkeley?" Open Streets are a powerful (and fun!) way to create civic engagement in community sustainability and we want to make it happen again and again!

To make Sunday Streets Berkeley a repeat event, it must have sufficient City support through City partnership.

The future of Sunday Streets Berkeley will be determined by whether or not the city covers city costs and fees - a committment that has led to the success of Open Streets across the country. Urge your Council representative, the Council as a whole, and Mayor Tom Bates to make the City a partner for Sunday Streets. Please come and support. Anything you say from the heart about what Sunday Streets means to you will have a positive impact.

Let the Berkeley City Council know you loved Sunday Streets Berkeley and you want it to become a regular event. City support - through in-kind city services - reflects the City's committment to promoting community cohesion, public health, local business, sustainable living, and Berkeley's unique values and character.

The bulk of the resources necessary to make Sunday Streets Berkeley possible comes from private sponsorship and partner organizations. This includes event production, community outreach, programming recruitment and management, publicity, and more.
